Baking School: Seasonal Pastries

March 1, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$60

In this lively, hands-on cooking class, you’ll learn the essential science and techniques to baking sweet seasonal pastries. Folks will be learning how to make two very different styles of pastry; the creme brulee being very delicate, creamy and special  and the apple galette as more of a rustic, simple and hearty dessert.

Students will get to learn how make a basic custard that is super silky, bake using a water bath and brulee their own custards. They will also learn basic pie dough skills, rolling out the dough and baking the tart to perfection.

Children age 6+ are welcome to join with at least one adult.

Menu:

  • Ginger Creme Brulee: baked custard made with ginger infused cream
  • Apple-almond galette: a rustic apple tart made with local apples, almond butter and an all butter crust
