SUMMARY:Creative Romance Paint Night
DESCRIPTION:What could be more romantic than an evening of making art with your significant other? Think Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore a la Ghost 1990\, but with a brush\, canvas and festive sustenance. Your two favorite artists\, Ana Smyth and Francisco Colom from our Paint the Gardens summer series will be leading you in instruction. We encourage you to use this night to try something new with a long-time partner\, or perhaps get to know a new acquaintance in a group setting. While we’re at it\, bring a roommate\, sibling or friend – everyone benefits from a little creative expression and dessert. \nThis class is open to all experience levels. No previous painting experience required.\nThis is a 21+ only event. Space is limited; Pre-registration required.\nDessert included in ticket price. BYOB welcome.

SUMMARY:Vacation Week: Farm Felting
DESCRIPTION:Warmer spring weather means its sheep shearing time on the farm. But what to do with all that wool? Learn about the time honored tradition of wool felting. We’ll start by learning how wash and “card” the raw wool into soft fiber for spinning or felting. Afterwards\, we’ll try our hand at making felt balls to be used for farm-fun necklaces. Wool\, wood beads and decorative string will be provided\, but feel free to bring anything special of your own to add to your necklace. We’ll end by visiting and feed our three lovely merino sheep. \nPre-registration is required as we can not accommodate a large group with drop-ins for this program. Registration is by the child\, but an adult must attend with them (at no cost). \nCost for a member child/adult pair is $12\, and cost for a nonmember child/adult pair is $20. \n

SUMMARY:Winter Food Swap
DESCRIPTION:Do you make a scrumptious blueberry muffin? Maybe you brew your own beer? Have some chickens at home that pop out lots of eggs? Maybe you have a super top secret family cassarole recipe? Maybe you produce sweet\, delicious honey? Bring them all to the Food Swap! For this event Appleton Farms provides a space for people to bring their own homemade creations (a dish\, beer\, baked goods\, crops\, artisan crafts\, etc.) and showcase them in a silent auction type of swap. The way it works is you will showcase your items and allow (if possible) others to sample it. During that time you also take part in sampling what others brought. Then\, when the facilitator gives the signal it is a mad dash to make a deal and swap your items with other things you had your eye on! Not only is a swap a great time to see the passions of other people in our community\, it is a great way for us all to come together and share our wonderful gifts! \nThis event is free but you must email Kyle if you are interested (kjacoby@thetrustees.org). This event requires a minimum of 10 participants to run. This will also allow us to prepare accordingly and provide you with more information on how the swap works. Can’t wait to see you there!
