Snowy Owl: Queen of the North

February 15, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$12

This beautiful PBS Nature film follows the breeding season of a pair of Snowy Owls on Alaska’s North Slope. You’ll witness the many challenges the pair face in trying to raise their young in one of the harshest environments in the world.

After the film, we’ll discuss what researchers have learned about the “snowies” that visit Massachusetts each winter, as well as where you might find (and safely view) Snowy Owls on Cape Cod! Panelists include Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary naturalist Joel Wagner and Mass Audubon’s Norman Smith, a veteran Snowy Owl researcher who’s been relocating and tagging owls found at Boston Logan Airport since 1981.

Reserve tickets using the event’s link below.
