North Shore Wine Tastings
November 4, 2014 12:00 amNow that the weather has cooled and the leaves are falling fast, it is getting harder to find activities that can bring friends and family together. Whether you are looking for a bachelorette night, Mom’s Night Out, Private Party or a corporate gathering, wine tasting and winery tours are a great alternative now that it is getting a little too cold for outdoor activities. The North Shore of Massachusetts has two such wineries that have excellent tours and tastings that will be a hit with your group!
Mill River Winery in Rowley, Massachusetts provide not only a quaint location but also great locally made wine. They offer Friday Night Wine Tastings of local wines with light appetizers. The friendly owners and staff also suggest a fun Vineyard Walk uniquely called a “Dirt to Bottle Tour!” This takes you and your group on a short walk of the vineyard looking at both infant and mature vines, then the manufacturing facility and bottling rooms. A great way to see the process and enjoy a glass of your favorite variety of wine. Mill River also offers wine tastings during the week and evenings.
Alfalfa Farms Winery in Topsfield, Massachusetts offers wine tours, tastings and entertainment that can accommodate your group from small private parties to larger outings up to 80 people in four possible tasting areas. Fall Tastings start Saturday, September 6, 2014 . Join them for live, local music every fall, and Holiday Shopping in November before they close up shop for the winter in December. Get in your tour and tasting this autumn at two of the North Shore’s wonderful wineries.
