Do cows get hot or cold?
November 8, 2020 9:34 pmAs winter approaches, many may wonder about cows being left outside in a pasture. Do cows get cold?
Cows have thick skin, hair and a natural insulation, so they actually prefer temperatures between 40 and 65 degrees. If they are well fed, healthy and have dry bedding, they are ok in the cold.
During the winter, farmers will keep the barns warm for the cows and this is where they will stay during the day and ensure that they have extra bedding too.
